Shannon joined the firm in 2004 after graduating from the Cumberland School of Law and Brock School of Business at Samford University. She has extensive experience in a diverse range of transactional matters, and her practice is concentrated in the areas of commercial real estate, commercial finance, construction, and general business contracts.
The largest part of Shannon’s practice consists of representing clients in various in-state and multi-state real estate acquisitions, dispositions, financing arrangements, and development projects. The balance of her practice includes the negotiation and drafting of a variety of contracts, such as commercial leases (including single use, multi-use, industrial, office, and retail for landlords or tenants), manufacturing and distribution agreements, and settlement agreements. Shannon also provides environmental and business due diligence review and support in merger and acquisition transactions.
Shannon’s recent transaction work has included representation of a borrower in $117,000,000 loan facility securing over 90 properties; a buyer in the purchase of over $60,000,000 in real estate; and a seller of the sale of $28,000,000 of leased real estate to a REIT. Notably, she was involved in the management and analysis of real estate due diligence matters in the 2010 ABC Supply Co., Inc. merger with Bradco Supply Corporation and again in 2013 in connection with the financing transaction related to the buyout of the minority shareholders of ABC Supply Holding Corp. Drawing on her experience, one of Shannon’s priorities is to assist business and property owners with their specific transactional needs while maintaining focus on the overall goals and needs of the client.
Prior to entering the legal profession, Shannon attended the University of South Alabama on an academic scholarship and an athletic scholarship for the Division I collegiate soccer team. After transferring to Mississippi State University, she received All-SEC Academic honors as a scholarship member of both the Division I collegiate soccer and track teams. Shannon has also worked in the field of sports facility operations management.
